CHEM 210 - Organic Chemistry I (4 semester hours) Prerequisites: C or higher in CHEM 161 -CHEM 162 or permission of instructor Description: This course with laboratory is designed as a first-level introduction to the carbon-based reactions involved in life chemistry. The course focuses on the nomenclature, structure and fundamental basis for reactivity of organic compounds. It sets a background for advanced study in forensic or environmental chemistry and biochemistry. Three hours of lecture, three hours of laboratory per week. Offered Fall Semester and Summer, annually.
