BTEC 105 - The Art of Genes and Fusion (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: None Description: The student is introduced to molecular concepts regarding DNA, genes, proteins, and chromosome mapping to describe the importance of biotechnology to help combat human diseases and disorders. The student examines links between diseases and genes, such as leukemia and cancer. Lastly, the student will use case studies and contemporary topics in biotechnology and genetic engineering to understand the significance of gene manipulation in technology development. Offered as needed.
