GEND 275 - Gender and Society (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: ENGL 105 or ENGL 106 Description: This course explains how gender affects people’s lives in a variety of ways. Most people consider gender the learned or social differences between girls and boys, and women and men. Gender is a variable, and members of both sexes can vary in the extent to which they conform to gender roles and expectations. The course reviews the impact of gender on education, science, language, employment, history and politics. Offered Fall and Spring semester, annually.
