ISEM 500 - Strategic Planning for Digital Transformation


(3 semester hours)

Description: This course introduces the principles of strategic planning of modern enterprises with a particular focus on digital transformation. This course is a mixture of business and technologies – it concentrates on how digital technologies enable and drive modern business strategies. Initial topics include concepts of digital enterprises, stages of digital transformation, and planning strategies to compete and succeed in the digital age. The core of the course revolves around the building blocks of modern information systems that span business processes, enterprise applications, databases, computing platforms, web technologies, knowledge management, AI and network services.  The final segment explores how global systems can be planned, engineered, integrated, secured, and managed by using the latest developments.  Extensive case studies and hands-on assignments are used throughout the course. The student is encouraged to pursue their own areas of interest in team projects.
