ISEM 533 - Distributed Database Management and Security

Prerequisites: None
Description: This course covers the fundamental principles of distributed database management, big data processing, cloud computing and AI security. The student will learn the theory of distributed systems, design, specification, implementation considerations, and performance management, as well as approaches to maintaining the consistency, concurrency, integrity, and reliability of distributed systems. In addition to these topics, the course also explores some basic concepts of big data processing techniques and the use of cloud computing platforms for scalable and distributed data storage and processing. The student will gain an understanding of how these technologies can be used to solve real-world problems in data-intensive applications. Overall, this course is designed to provide the student with a basic understanding of distributed database management within the perspectives of big data processing, cloud computing and AI security. By the end of the course, the student will have gained hands-on experience with a variety of tools and technologies used in these domains and will be well-equipped to tackle distributed data management problems.
