ISEM 582 - Cloud Computing Applications for Business


(3 semester hours)
Prerequisites: ISEM 564  
Description: This course introduces the student to Cloud systems impact and its relation to business operations. It addresses analytics and computations involving data sets that may be very large. Course goals are to teach advanced methods and tools utilized in the data science field in different business areas. The student will learn how to use and administer cloud computing resources and useful utilities. The lectures and discussions will help aid the student in understanding business drivers and changing business models. The student will also learn the latest solutions augmented by case studies. The course will provide hands-on cloud applications in order to provide an understanding of cloud computing and how businesses can best use it. The class will consist of lectures, hands-on in-class labs, homework assignments and in-class discussions. The student will gain experience working with different tools, including Amazon and Google Cloud services, through course assignments.
