INSC 310 - Conservation Biology (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: BIOL 302 Description: This course covers the importance of biodiversity, the existence of a wide variety of plant and animal species in their natural environment, and the causes and consequences of its reduction and the efforts at prevention of its loss. The student becomes familiar with the history of conservation efforts and identifies instances of success and failure. Material includes applications of conservation science to single species, communities or ecosystems. Offered Spring Semester, odd-numbered years.
