GRAD 509 - Research Methods (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: None Description: This course introduces the student to the package of study design and research methods employed in a variety of operational practices. Lessons are structured around foundational research methodologies as well as the execution and reporting thereof. The student will engage in learning about and practicing research skills and methods in order to develop the capacity needed to research the people, processes, contexts and contemporaries of the design and study of modern systems, contexts, and surrounding populations. Through readings, discussions and the exploration of examples, guidelines, and heuristics, the course engages the student in the methodological aspects of empirical research strategies incorporating both human-facing and technology-oriented domains.
