CISC 160 - Data Structures (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: MATH 210 (or taken concurrently) and one of the following, C or higher in CISC 120 or C or higher in CISC 140 Description: This lecture and laboratory course further develops the concepts and techniques of computer programming. Emphasis is placed on structured programming, top-down design, more advanced data structures, and the proper use of the programming language and development tools. . Topics include Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), arrays, dynamic arrays, linked lists, abstract data types (ADTs), stacks, queues, trees, recursion, priority queues, and heaps. Students will also be introduced to the concept of algorithmic analysis for comparing the performance of different data structures. Offered Fall and Spring semester, annually.
