BIOL 351 - Applied Microbiology Lecture (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: BIOL 330 Corequisite: BIOL 352 Description: This course builds upon the principles learned in Microbiology, further developing the concepts of how microbes can be beneficial and detrimental to human society. Topics include clinical microbiology, microbiomes, development of antibiotic resistance, geomicrobiology, astromicrobiology, and environmental microbiology. Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory per week. Offered Spring semester, annually.
