BIOL 135 - Clinical Microbiology Lecture (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: BIOL 115 and BIOL 116 Corequisite: BIOL 136 Description: This course is designed for the student who needs a broad coverage of microbiology and who have little or no background in biology or chemistry. The relationship between host and parasite is emphasized, especially as related to human disease, epidemiology, and infection control. A broad range of infectious diseases are covered, including etiologic agent identification, modes of transmission, and prevention. Limited to the student enrolled in the UPMC Partnership Program. Offered Summer semester, annually and as needed.
