CHEM 211 - Organic Chemistry I Lecture (3 semester hours) Prerequisites: C or higher in CHEM 161 -CHEM 162 Corequisite: CHEM 212 Description: This course is designed as a first-level introduction to the carbon-based reactions involved in life chemistry. The course focuses on the nomenclature, structure, and fundamental basis for reactivity of organic compounds. It sets a background for advanced study in forensic or environmental chemistry and biochemistry. Offered Fall semester, annually; Summer Subterm A, as needed.
