GEND 251 - The Political Mind International Governing Institutions and Global Health, Energy, Poverty, and Security (6 semester hours) Prerequisites: GEND 102 and GEND 215 Description: This course introduces the student to a wide spectrum of critical global topics in governance, energy, health, poverty and security. The primary objective of the course is to encourage the student to understand international issues that affect global communities at different levels. The role of international institutions, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations that promote globalization, environmental issues, trade, international finance, peace and human rights are covered. Offered Fall semester, annually.
